Home Sweet Home

Tuesday, August 30th, 2005

I can’t wait to have my own house. Yes people, I still live with my in-laws … and boy, let me tell you … it ain’t easy.

They’re really not that bad, it’s just … I didn’t even really like living with mine, and I loved it when we were living alone in the US (sans parents) … now I have to live with a new set of parents. How I wish I was still living with my parents now, imagine the irony … Hehehehe.

The thing is, it doesn’t feel like home. All the people living in the house spend 90% of their time in their own room. They don’t even have dinner together like normal family … I don’t know, I just think it’s weird. It’s like living in a hotel, where you don’t interact with other patrons. You just live in your little room with your TV and remote.

When I have a house, there will be no TV in the bedroom, especially the kids’ rooms. Speaking of bedrooms, right now ours is growing smaller and smaller by the second. Either we have too much junk, or we just don’t have enough space in 1 bedroom for 3 person. I’m adding more drawers and trunks and boxes, but the clutter is just so unbeareble and uncontrolable. It simply won’t look tidied up, no matter how hard I try to contain the junks. *Sigh* …

Oh, and the most annoying thing about this house is the water. It’s so bad that I have to shout out to the maids to turn the water pump on every time I want to shower or give my kid a bath. Sometimes in the night there’s no water at all. Weird isn’t it? :p

When will I have my own house? God willing, it will be completed next summer. Cross fingers.

Update: Well, summer’s here … and still no sign of completion. God willing it will be done before the Moslem new year (lebaran). Until then, am not getting my hopes up.

More update: Jeffery finally bought new jet pump for the old house. Hallelujah, we have running water day and night + the water pressure’s very good. Now I’m at peace.
